What Legislation is there to protect the Tigers? |

We are a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization that rescues exotic animals which have been bred in captivity. These large, majestic Jungle Cats, as well as other exotics, are being bred for one of a few reasons. - To be sold as pets to people, most of whom know absolutely nothing about trying to feed, maintain & control these large & very dangerous animals.
- To be shot by cowardly hunters who pay for the privledge of killing them in a fenced in area. The animal has no chance of escape & big cats have been known to walk up and lick the hand of the hunter before the hunt begins. This highly unsportsmanlike practice of executing tame animals for enjoyment, or worse yet, to place their head on a wall as a trophy must be stopped.
- To be sold for use in the making of Chinese Medicine. Tiger parts are ground up and used. It is truely sad that so many of the most beautiful animals in the world come to such a cruel and unnecessary end.
There is no legislation protecing these animals. Please join us in trying to put an end to this terrible injustice. - Please support HR1202 - A first step in banning the "canned hunting" of animals. Many Lions, Tigers, and other large cats, as well as Deer, Elk & surplus zoo animals end up at these "Hunting lodges".
- Please support HR5226 - The Captive Wildlife Safety Act by California Representative George Miller.
- Please support HR3464 - Will ban the interstate sale or transport of exotic animals for the purpoise of shooting for trophies. By U.S. Representative Sam Farr.
Please help the animals by writing to your Representatives to protest this cruel and inhumane treatment. You can get information on who your local Representatives are by going to http://www.congress.org and entering your zipcode or by calling the U. S. Capitol switchboard at (202)-224-3121 Please help us to save these exotic animals, many of them on the endangered list, by writing to your officals.
