Our Stance...  Tigers For Tomorrow Exotic Animal Preserve, Inc. (TFT) does not promote private ownership. We do not write books on how to keep an exotic cat in your house or breeding animals for the purpose of selling the babies to support our cause.
Tigers For Tomorrow understands the allure of owning an exotic cat. The opportunity to portray oneself as keeper of the wild, is too much to pass up. To hold a 3 to 4 week old cub and look into its eyes is truly a gift. These animals are truly some of the most majestic beasts that have ever roamed this earth. As we said, TFT understands but does not condone private ownership. For every rule there is an exception. There are private owners out there who before entering into a lifelong contract with an exotic animal, has researched the husbandry necessary to keep a cat healthy, went out and volunteer to obtain experience, looked into the cost of food and medical bills. If you think a gallon of bottles is costly, what do you think (30) thirty to (40) forty pounds of meat cost? Now, multiply that by 6.
Its's a lifetime commitment Cats bred and raised in captivity will often live into there twenties. Ask yourself, where will I be in ten years, now double that. Owning an exotic cat means that for the next 20 years there will be no vacations to exotic islands, no holidays (the office never closes) and no more weekends to sleep in. Before even entering the idea of owning an exotic animal of any kind, especially one of the larger exotic cats, please take a look inside yourself, what are your true intentions. Owning an exotic cat will not buy you friends, at least not the ones you want. It will not transform you into someone rich and famous like Sigfried and Roy. Remember, Sigfried and Roy are incredibly talented illusionists, entertaining the world for over thirty years now. They have dedicated their lives to their work and have a trained staff to care for their animals. Owning an exotic cat won’t make you a model, no one will be knocking on your door with movie contracts to sign.
