"You need to come with me and be with that animal because if we can teach people about wildlife, then they'll want to save it"
The world has lost a great wildlife icon and a passionate conservationist- Steve Irwin. In honor of his life's work Tigers for Tomorrow at UNTAMED MOUNTAIN will celebrate Irwin's accomplishments in conservation this weekend. Though this is a devastating blow to the world's wildlife conservation efforts, we would like to remind those who loved and admired him of the bridge Steve built that connected people to the natural world.
Steve Irwin was known for taking the deadliest, unruliest and most dangerous creatures on earth and educating the public about their natural behaviors and abilities. "You need to come with me and be with that animal," Irwin once told an interviewer on one of his Animal Planet specials, "because if we can teach people about wildlife, then they'll want to save it."
In honor of Irwin's homeland, Australia, Minardi, the non profits Wallaby will be out for the first time in his new enclosure to greet guest. Tigers For Tomorrow will also be hanging a Wallaby pouch to collect sympathy cards and gifts which will forwarded to the Australia Zoo.
On Saturday and Sunday at 12 noon and 2:30 pm the preserve will honor Irwin with a howling by Bear and Lakota the preserves Timbers Wolves which will be followed by a moment of silence in which we will honor Steve Irwin's accomplishment in conservation. In addition the preserve will put their newest additions, 4, 18 week old Siberian Tiger Cubs on exhibit in a temporary enclosure for their first public appearance at UNTAMED MOUNTAIN.
